Kalenik es egresado en Diseño de Imagen y Sonido por la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), donde posteriormente integró el equipo docente de la Cátedra Szlifman de Diseño Transmedia y Arte Contemporáneo. A partir del lenguaje audiovisual y de la práctica artística contemporánea, su trabajo reflexiona sobre las formas en que la tecnología transforma la percepción y nuestra experiencia de la vida urbana contemporánea.
Su obra ha sido seleccionada para el Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, el 8° Premio Fundación Andreani y numerosos festivales nacionales e internacionales de cine. Ha presentado proyectos y exposiciones en instituciones como el Centro de Investigaciones HiperMediales de Latinoamérica (CheLA), F.A.D.U. y Espacio 34_35.
Actualmente vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Emanuel Kalenik is a designer and visual artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His practice engages with visual culture, urban space, and technology, exploring the intersections of fantasy, the city, and perception. His work examines how bodies and crowds generate imaginaries, affective experiences, and spatial forms within environments increasingly mediated by digital systems. Working across video, installation, and transdisciplinary practices, he investigates the shifting boundaries between reality and fiction.
Kalenik holds a degree in Image and Sound Design from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where he later joined the teaching staff of the Szlifman Chair of Transmedia Design and Contemporary Art. Drawing from both audiovisual language and contemporary artistic practice, his work considers the ways technology reshapes perception and our experience of contemporary urban life.
His work has been selected for the National Salon of Visual Arts, the 8th Andreani Foundation Award, and numerous national and international film festivals. He has presented projects and exhibitions at institutions including the Latin American Hypermedia Research Center (CheLA), F.A.D.U. and Espacio 34_35.
He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
